Breakfast Attendant Wanted: Be the First Good Thing That Happens to Guests Each Morning in Downtown Nashville at the Hampton Inn & Suites Nashville Downtown Capitol View
Part-Time
Breakfast AttendantStart the Day Right — Be the Heart of Breakfast in Downtown Nashville

Good mornings are a Nashville specialty.

Before the first guitar string is ever plucked on Broadway, before the sun clears the Capitol dome, the real magic of this city begins at breakfast — and you’re the one who helps make it happen.

At Hampton Inn & Suites Nashville Downtown – Capitol View, our guests include families exploring Music City, business travelers preparing for a full day downtown, and visitors here to experience everything Nashville has to offer.

What they all have in common is simple: their day starts with us.

We’re looking for a Breakfast Attendant who brings warmth, energy, attention to detail, and a genuine desire to create a great guest experience from the moment the coffee starts pouring.

What You’ll Do

As our Breakfast Attendant, you will be responsible for preparing, maintaining, and closing the breakfast area while providing friendly and attentive service to our guests.

You will:

  • Prepare and set up the breakfast area before service each morning.

  • Ensure all breakfast items are fresh, properly presented, and available when guests arrive.

  • Restock food, beverages, coffee, condiments, utensils, and supplies throughout the breakfast period.

  • Monitor the buffet continuously to maintain cleanliness, presentation, and product availability.

  • Welcome guests and provide friendly, attentive service throughout breakfast.

  • Answer questions about breakfast offerings and assist guests with special requests when possible.

  • Maintain coffee and beverage stations and ensure they remain stocked and clean.

  • Monitor food temperatures and follow established food safety and sanitation procedures.

  • Maintain clean tables, counters, serving areas, equipment, and surrounding breakfast spaces.

  • Remove used dishes, trash, and other items promptly to maintain a clean and inviting environment.

  • Assist with receiving, organizing, and stocking breakfast supplies as needed.

  • Break down and clean the breakfast area at the conclusion of service.

  • Properly store remaining food products and supplies according to established procedures.

  • Prepare the breakfast area and supplies for the following day.

  • Communicate inventory or supply needs to hotel leadership.

  • Assist guests with general hotel questions and provide basic information about hotel amenities and the surrounding area.

  • Support other hotel departments when operational needs require.

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned based on the needs of the hotel and operation.

The responsibilities listed above are not intended to be an all-inclusive or exhaustive list of the duties required of this position. Responsibilities may change or expand based on business levels, operational needs, and management direction.

What Success Looks Like

Great breakfast service is about more than keeping the buffet full.

It’s about helping guests start their day on the right note.

You will be successful in this role when the breakfast area is clean, organized, well-stocked, and inviting; food is presented properly; guests feel welcomed; and the entire operation runs smoothly from setup through breakdown.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Friendly, welcoming, and genuinely guest-focused.

  • Energetic and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

  • Organized and able to keep multiple areas stocked and clean at the same time.

  • Detail-oriented when it comes to presentation, cleanliness, and food safety.

  • Dependable and punctual, especially for early-morning shifts.

  • Comfortable interacting with guests and answering basic questions.

  • Able to work independently while also contributing as part of the hotel team.

  • Willing to jump in and help wherever needed.

  • Flexible and willing to adjust their schedule based on business levels and hotel needs.

Experience & Qualifications
  • Previous food service, restaurant, hotel, or hospitality experience is preferred but not required.

  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

  • Strong guest-service and communication skills.

  • Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices is preferred.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests, coworkers, and hotel leadership.

  • Must have scheduling flexibility and be available for early mornings, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.

Physical Requirements

While performing the essential functions of this position and other duties as assigned, an employee may be required to stand and walk for extended periods, bend, reach, push, pull, and use hands and fingers to handle food, equipment, utensils, and supplies.

The position may also require lifting or moving items weighing up to 40 pounds, communicating verbally, and working continuously in an active food-service environment.
