Exciting opportunity to sell events & meetings on an experienced hotel sales team at the Hampton Inn & Suites Nashville Downtown Capitol View!
If you’re the kind of hospitality professional who loves winning the business and then making sure every detail comes together flawlessly, this may be the opportunity you’ve been looking for.
As our Executive Meeting Manager, you won’t simply sell the meeting and hand it off. You’ll own the experience from beginning to end — prospecting for new business, responding to inquiries, closing the opportunity, coordinating the details, and servicing the group once they arrive.
This role is built for someone who enjoys both sides of hospitality: the thrill of the sale and the satisfaction of seeing a successful meeting or event come to life.
You’ll focus primarily on small groups, meetings, catering events, and local business opportunities while maintaining and growing existing accounts.
What You’ll Do
Prospect for new group and catering business through targeted calls, relationship building, referrals, networking, and local market activity.
Respond quickly and professionally to incoming sales inquiries and convert opportunities into definite business.
Maintain and grow key catering and small-group accounts.
Understand your accounts — their production, trends, booking patterns, rates, competitors, and future opportunities.
Conduct effective sales calls utilizing company and brand sales processes.
Maintain detailed account activity, correspondence, traces, and follow-up in the hotel sales system.
Manage group information, GRC, room blocks, rooming lists, direct billing requests, and other logistical requirements.
Coordinate meeting and catering details directly with clients.
Prepare and communicate accurate BEOs, Group Resumes, and event specifications to hotel departments.
Partner closely with Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Revenue Management, and Operations to ensure every group experience is seamless.
Serve as a primary hotel contact for groups while they are in-house.
Be visible during key meetings and events when needed to ensure successful execution and strengthen client relationships.
Follow up after events to build repeat business and uncover future opportunities.
Who We’re Looking For
This role is ideal for someone who doesn’t want to choose between sales and event execution.
You enjoy pursuing new business, but you also care about what happens after the contract is signed. You’re organized enough to manage the details, confident enough to ask for the business, and hospitality-minded enough to make clients want to come back.
You should bring strong direct sales and relationship-building skills, excellent communication and problem-solving abilities, strong organizational and time-management skills, confidence in prospecting, and the ability to manage multiple groups and priorities at once.
Experience & Education
One or more years of direct sales, hotel sales, catering, event management, or related hospitality experience preferred.
Working knowledge of account qualification, prospecting, hotel selling processes, file and trace management, and sales follow-up preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
Certified Hospitality Sales Professional designation is a plus.
Physical Requirements
While performing the essential functions of this position, team members may be required to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, and use hands and fingers to operate office equipment and other tools. The position may require lifting or moving items weighing up to 20 pounds, communicating verbally with guests and team members, and utilizing close vision for computer-related tasks.
Why You’ll Want to Work Here
This is an opportunity to build more than a book of business.
You’ll gain hands-on experience in sales, catering, event execution, account management, hotel operations, and client relationship management — giving you exposure to nearly every part of the group sales process.
For someone who wants to grow into a larger hotel sales, catering, or leadership role, the Executive Meeting Manager position is a strong next step.
