Chartwell Hospitality, a fully integrated real estate company, is on the hunt for a talented Property Accountant to join our team in the charming city of Franklin, TN. Our company specializes in the acquisition, development, and management of top-tier, branded, full-service and limited-service hotels. Please note: This is nota remote position, but who wouldn't want to work in the heart of historic Franklin?
Your Role:
Your task will be full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of our premium hotel properties. From preparing accurate financial records and technical reports to assisting with audit requests and tax compliance, your skills will be crucial for our operation. In this role, you’ll have the chance to collaborate with our team and contribute to the overall success of our portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting monthly close procedures.
- Analyzing and reconciling financial statements, general ledgers, budgets, and cash flow projections.
- Posting daily sales and cash journal entries.
- Providing accounting support for portfolio managers.
- Delivering accurate and timely financial information to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Assisting with internal and external audit requests.
- Facilitating tax compliance, including monthly sales tax filings.
- Executing monthly bank reconciliations.
- Handling ad hoc requests.
Who We're Looking For:
We're seeking a detailed-oriented, organized individual with excellent verbal, comprehension, listening, and problem-solving skills. You should have relevant accounting experience and be comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, all while maintaining accuracy and timeliness.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in an accounting/finance environment.
- Experience in hospitality or real estate is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
Physical requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will regularly need to sit, stand, bend, walk, use hands or fingers, lift boxes (up to 15 pounds), talk and hear. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision to a computer screen.
