Job Summary: 

  • Accountable for overall success of the daily restaurant operations.
  • Exhibits culinary talents by personally performing tasks while leading the staff and managing all food related functions. 
  • Prepares and cooks foods of all types, on a regular basis (restaurant line).
  • Works to continually improve guest and employee satisfaction while maintaining the operating budget. 
  • Supervises all kitchen areas to ensure a consistent, high-quality product is produced. 
  • Responsible for guiding and developing staff including direct reports. 
  • Supervises and coordinates activities of cooks and other workers engaged in food preparation.
  • Must ensure sanitation and food standards are achieved.
  • Provides services that are above and beyond for internal and external guest satisfaction and retention
  • Sets a positive example for guest relations
  • Empowers employees to provide excellent customer service

Responsibilities

  • Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies
  • Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
  • Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
  • Answer, report and follow management instructions
  • Clean up station and take care of leftover food
  • Stock inventory appropriately
  • Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers 

Requirements

  • Proven cooking experience
  • Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
  • Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
  • Familiar with industry’s best practices
